What Expectantly Can Amelia Do?
Amazon recently unveiled Project Amelia, an AI-driven assistant integrated into Seller Central. Powered by Amazon Bedrock, Amelia aims to provide sellers with faster, smarter support by addressing common pain points, offering personalized insights, and even taking actions to resolve issues. Here is the use cases that is shown in the video
Amazon's AI-powered assistant, Amelia, promises to revolutionize seller support by combining advanced analytics, actionable insights, and direct problem resolution—but is it the future of seller support or just another overhyped tool? It sounds impressive on paper, but as with any new tech, there’s a mix of excitement and skepticism in the air.
Check out the demo video I’ve included below—it shows Amelia answering questions, analyzing business metrics, and navigating complex scenarios. The potential is clear: faster issue resolution and less back-and-forth for sellers who are often left frustrated by traditional support channels. But how well will it work in practice?
That’s the big question. Interestingly, while Amazon claims to have rolled out Amelia to a select group of sellers, no one seems to have surfaced to share their experience yet.
If you browse Amazon forums or Reddit, you’ll see a recurring theme: hesitation. Sellers are wary of relying too heavily on automation, especially for nuanced or high-stakes issues like account suspensions or policy disputes. Many fear that Amelia could become just another automated system that complicates rather than simplifies things. I’ve added a few screenshots of these discussions to give you a sense of the mood in the seller community.

That said, there’s still room for optimism. Amelia's "Actions and Issue Resolution" feature, for example, has the potential to be a game-changer. This function allows Amelia to diagnose problems and offer actionable solutions, such as addressing inventory discrepancies or compliance issues. Sellers are desperate for effective support, and if Amelia can genuinely take meaningful actions without dragging out the process, it could fill a critical gap.
Sellers have voiced high hopes for Amelia, with use cases surfacing across platforms like Reddit. Here are the key features we’re looking forward to:
The most exciting possibility? Autonomous resolution of AI-triggered issues like erroneous account suspensions, drastically reducing wait times and seller frustration.
For me, the most exciting aspect of Amelia is the possibility of resolving AI-initiated problems, such as mistakenly triggered suspensions of listings or accounts. These issues are a nightmare for sellers, often taking weeks or even months to fix through manual appeals. If Amelia can autonomously identify and correct such errors—without requiring human intervention—it would be a massive win for the seller community. Imagine having your listing reinstated within minutes instead of waiting on a support ticket to go through endless loops. That’s the kind of functionality sellers are rooting for.
Amazon’s Project Amelia has enormous potential, but its success will depend on its ability to adapt to the complexity of real-world issues. If Amelia can combine automation with precision and truly alleviate the burden on sellers, it could redefine how seller support operates. Still, the skepticism from the community is valid—trust will need to be earned through consistent results.
What’s your take on Amelia? Could it be the solution we’ve been waiting for, or will it struggle to meet the expectations of Amazon’s diverse seller base? Let me know in the comments below.
